The Srimar Peninsula is still inhabited in prehistoric and antique times. The most valuable, safely best maintained, archaeological site is the complex of the late antique two-storey basilica in Prižba. On the hill above the village there is a church dedicated to Our Lady. It is a one-nave building with a bell tower. The original altar with a picture burned in a fire in 1918 and was replaced by an Byzantine Lady with a silver shirt. On the apse of the church there is a valuable fresco from the end of the 12th century which shows the Mother of God with the child and the characters of St. Vida and Juraj. Interestingly, the display of the orchard next to the figure of St. Jura, probably the self-portrait of the fresco artist himself.
